Reach Hundreds of People with the Broadcast Feature
The Broadcast feature found with WhatsApp will let you dispatch a media item or other message instantly to multiple contacts. The exciting thing is that you can use this feature to send such messages at once. Moreover, those receiving your messages will get them individually.
When you have a saved list of contacts who can receive repeated messages from you without the bothersome requirement to make a selection every time, this is referred to as a broadcast list. As noted, with such lists, you can dispatch a message to multiple contacts with a mere touch of a key.
Nevertheless, before trying this feature, use a checklist to make sure everything is in order. For instance, have all the members accurately saved, in their address book, your contact number?
Remember: You are allowed to create as many contact lists as you want. For every broadcast list, you can choose a maximum of 256 contacts. It is wise to avoid broadcasting lots of messages at once. This is the only way to ensure your messages are delivered appropriately.
Creating the List
At the same time, learn to initiate a broadcast list. Follow this simple process: Open WhatsApp and choose “More Options.” After this, go to “New Broadcast.” Choose the contacts that you wish to include. Click on “Checkmark.” Once you do this, a broadcast list will be created.
As long as all the members on the list have accurately saved your number in their devices’ address book, they will instantly receive the messages once you send them to the broadcast list. All the contacts will receive these notifications as standard messages.
When the recipients reply, you will get a regular message via the Chats screen. This means that, despite existing in your broadcast list, the rest of the people who received your broadcast message will not receive the private reply sent to you.
Further, if you determine that any of the contacts in the list is not getting the broadcast messages, you can remedy this by ensuring that you are correctly added as a contact in the user’s address book.
Keep in mind that broadcast lists are designed as a ‘multiple dispatch’ mode of communication. Thus, if you wish to have the contacts linked together for group conversation, it is advisable to come up with a group chat instead of a broadcast forum.
Editing Your WhatsApp List
You can edit the broadcast list by following this process: Go to “Edit Broadcast List.” “Open” the list. Click on the “i” icon. You will find this located near the list ready for editing. Go to the screen for “List Info.” Here, you may alter the broadcast list tag, remove some recipients or add. Simply click on “Edit List” and proceed.
If you wish to delete the list: Click on the button for “Broadcast Lists.” It is found above the “Chats “screen. Swipe left to delete the desired broadcast list.
